Parent Involvement

South Seattle College
The Vashon Maury Cooperative Preschool is affiliated with South Seattle Community College.  When you enroll your child at the Preschool, you are also enrolling as a SSCC student in the Home and Family Life department.  You will be issued a student ID number, and have access to many free parenting seminars offered by the college. 

We are proud to be affiliated with the Home and Family Life Department of the SSCC. This department supplies the Preschool with instructors who provide our parent education program.

The college also provides:

  • Parent education seminars.
  • The development and printing of parent education materials and forms.
  • The use of film and audio visual equipment.
  • Leadership training for Preschool officers.
  • Training for Preschool teachers and parent education instructors.
  • Laboratory space and janitorial services for the on-campus Preschool site.
  • A resource for Parent Advisory Council activities.
  • Program publicity.
  • Advisory information.
  • Support to enrolled families.
